In order to cope with the challenge of global climate change, the Indonesian government officially launched the “National Solar Energy Revitalization Plan” and plans to build a large-scale photovoltaic power station group with a total installed capacity of 100GW in the next ten years, and to build supporting advanced energy storage facilities to create a clean energy core base covering Southeast Asia. Under this strategic framework, China-Indonesia clean energy cooperation has reached a landmark breakthrough – Renjiang Group and Indonesian Pt SunPower Intim signed a cooperation agreement in the Renjiang Photovoltaic Conference Room on October 27, 2025, to jointly promote the 1.5MW photovoltaic pilot project on SABU Island, marking that the cooperation between the two countries in the field of renewable energy has entered a substantive stage.

At 13:00 that day, Zhu Renjiang, chairman of Renjiang Group, and Mr Stenly Tanjung, general manager of Pt SunPower Intim, formally signed a cooperation agreement. Before signing the contract, representatives from both parties watched the promotional video of Renjiang Group to systematically understand the company’s technological accumulation and strategic vision in the photovoltaic field. After the contract was signed, the participants visited the automated production workshop of Renjiang Group and intuitively experienced the technological innovation and quality control of the entire process of photovoltaic panel manufacturing. The signing ceremony not only witnessed the deepening of clean energy cooperation between China and Indonesia, but also demonstrated the advanced manufacturing capabilities of China’s photovoltaic industry through on-site inspections.

The core project of this cooperation is the first demonstration project of photovoltaic and diesel storage in Indonesia – the SABU Island 1.5MW photovoltaic pilot project. According to the agreement, Pt SunPower Intim will purchase 1.5MW high-efficiency photovoltaic panels from Renjiang Group specifically for the construction of this pilot project. As the first implementation case of both parties in the Indonesian market, the project carries dual missions: to verify the operational efficiency of the photovoltaic system in a tropical island environment to accumulate experience for subsequent large-scale promotion; and to explore a hybrid energy system model of “photovoltaic + energy storage + diesel power generation” to provide stable and reliable clean energy solutions for island areas.

This cooperation is an important practice of Renjiang Group’s “technology export + resource integration” strategy. By grafting Pt SunPower Intim’s investment network and localization experience in Indonesia, Renjiang Group will further expand the Southeast Asian market and consolidate its technological leadership in the global photovoltaic industry chain. From a more macro perspective, this project actively responds to the global “double carbon” goal. It not only provides a replicable technical verification model for Indonesia’s 100GW solar energy plan, but also contributes a scalable “Chinese solution” to the application of renewable energy in island areas around the world, reflecting the pragmatic cooperation spirit between China and Indonesia in the field of addressing climate change.
